But I like things a little less generic - hence my point that Hostile AI would be a good basis to adapt to particular rule systems, taking out some of the generic stuff like "move twice" that may not be applicable to a ruleset. I also find that once you get into modern territory, or skirmish gaming, it can become harder to do a decent solo opposition due to the objectives of a side which may often be no killing the enemy. I haven't really found once I liked for WW2 gaming, even my own. I do think random activation is one half of the key to solo gaming (as you state), it is the other half - what they do when activated - that I think needs to be a little more situation dependent (are they defending? suppressed? delaying? supporting other units? at a decent range for firing etc). I think there is a fairly simple system waiting to be written based on situational awareness but have not seen one, except Lock n Load Solo I do not have but seems great from what I have read...for Lock n Load. Admittedly I have not searched very much either. NUTS! does have one that works OK but I think it could be developed to be more situation aware.

I guess there are not many rules I play a lot and those I do I would like a specific opponent "AI".Shaun Travershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05691522858410783769noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1998967545804783754.post-41405120094057096202018-12-23T20:04:26.428-07:002018-12-23T20:04:26.428-07:00Well that leads to an interesting question, which ...Well that leads to an interesting question, which is how do you like to see the opposition playing solo?Dalehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13667428218897971037noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1998967545804783754.post-21756110795470332632018-12-23T19:58:48.769-07:002018-12-23T19:58:48.769-07:00Hello Dale,

I am not sure it fits with how I would like to see the opposition playing solo, but it does sound like a great system and can see how it could be adapted to be more aligned to particular rule systems.Shaun Travershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05691522858410783769noreply@blogger.com
